5. How can I register and pay for class?

For the Dordogne Trip:
There are three parts to the registration process. The first is letting us know that you intend to come. You can do this by calling 202-966-3361 or emailing us at veflei@aol.com. We will confirm space exists. The second is to confirm you space, by sending a check made out to Travels of the Fork & Cork for $500 for each person in your party into the mail. Please enclose the registration form found under Contact Us with your payment. We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard or personal check. Checks should be mailed to Travels of the Fork & Cork at 3313 Ross Place, NW, Washington, DC 20008. And finally, make the final payment for your trip. Each trip then has its own schedule for additional payments but all payments must be received 60 days before departure.

For the Castles and Feasts Trip:
You can reserve your space by sending a check for $1200.00 a person to Arts & Crafts Tours, 110 Riverside Drive, New York, New York 10024. You will be invoiced for the remaining costs and will need to make payment by check 60 days before the trip.

6. What happens if I can't come?

First, we suggest that you purchase trip insurance to cover the unforeseen of your life. A cancellation fee schedule is posted with each trip. Since we will have committed and prepaid for your trip, we cannot vary from this schedule. However, you can certainly send another person in your place if you so wish.

The breakdown for cancellation fees is as follows for the Dordogne:

  • Nonrefundable cancellation charge: $250.00
  • 31 to 60 days before departure: 50% refund
  • 15 to 30 days before departure: 25% refund
  • Less than 15 days: no refund

The breakdown for cancellation fees is as follows for the Castles and Feasts Trip:

  • Nonrefundable cancellation charge: $250.00
  • Six weeks or more before departure: Full refund less the cancellation charge
  • Less than six weeks before departure: Cancellation fee of $350 per person depending upon the resale of the reservation. Arts & Crafts Tours reserves the right to cancel the tour should registration prove insufficient. In this case a full refund will be made.

7. What do I have to bring with me?

Make sure you have a valid passport good for 3 months beyond the end of the trip. Beyond that, the stuff you would normally bring when you travel - comfortable shoe, sun block, comfortable clothes, something a bit dressier to wear out to dinner, your camera, and an extra bag to bring home any purchases. The house in the Dordogne has a washer and dryer available for your use during your stay.

The Castles and Feasts trip allows you to bring 2 medium sized suitcases.

Testimonials

"All I can say is I envy the people who will attend your class. They will have a wonderful time, and several of them will probably buy a shell and settle down in Roubia. If you and Ed decide to do so, let us know and we will buy a week or two as a "time share"!"

- Embry Howell
